Fall

fall necklace

A time of melancholy rainbows. A time when eyes re-learn to trace the bones of trees. A time of glittering early frost and stars in the early evenings.

*****

I've collected fallen leaves and steam-printed them on silk. Their colours were captured on the fabric (with the help of some alum in which the silk was mordanted). The print looked like a watercolour.

The necklace is available here.

Beautiful! Yes, like morning frost and early evening stars! Also made me think of the reflection of a sunset on a frozen lake.
