Woad

barely-there blue

...and then I did the same with my mini crop of about 10 woad leaves.

A barely-there blue. But blue it is. Sometimes I wondered if the plant was woad at all and I guess this is proof.

What a beautiful colour. I love the subtlety of fabrics which have been dyed naturally. I had a whole sketchbook of experiments when I was at college (many moons ago), but I never tried woad.
I love it.

I love that barely there blue. Is this silk organza? I've finally ventured into a personal exploration of natural dyes this summer and am so excited about the possibilities! You are such an inspiration!!

I imagine the colour will look deeper, with the folding when you constructed one of your beautiful pieces.

Thank you.
It's organza and it would indeed make a nice sea mist veil for a mermaid :)
